How We Can Help

As industrial safety specialists, our goal is to provide you with comprehensive and practical solutions to ensure you achieve compliance. We achieve this by providing you with the following services:

Introductory/Initial Site Visit

  • Thorough on-site reviews of the racking structures, conducted by Anchor Materials’ well trained staff.
  • Detailed damage assessment in accordance with FEM standards and based on our structural engineering experience.
  • Quality images highlighting the damaged components in question with clear recommendations regarding corrective. options.

Analysis & Documentation

  • General issues regarding poor installation procedures and detailed descriptions of required corrective actions.
  • Structural capacities of racking structures in accordance with the requirements of CSA A344, RMI and OBC codes and standards.
  • Provision of layout and elevations drawings of all racking structures to ensure easy location of damaged components and capacity information.

Advanced Engineering

  • Provide a report showing any structural deficiencies in the racking structure – with a quote for remediation.
  • Provide an Engineer stamped report adhering to all Ministry related guidelines and requirements.
  • Technical support after our review has been issued to ensure you fully understand the contents of our report.

When To Inspect?

Many jurisdictions require an official document stating that racks have been rated, inspected and are safe to use. Ontario requires a PSHSR or PSR (Pre-start Health and Safety Review) and British Columbia (WorkSafeBC) also requires inspections.

Having up-to-date layouts with associated load capacities is required. Load capacity labels or plaques are also required to be displayed at all times on or near the rack systems to inform warehouse workers of their rated capacity.

An annual, quarterly, or monthly re-inspection of your racks after a baseline inspection has already been conducted. New damage may have occurred. Updating the status of previously reported issues will give a more accurate measure of performance.

Whether it’s your entire warehouse or a small section, a brand-new installation calls for a 3rd party to verify that everything was installed according to engineering specifications and that the rack systems are ready to be put to safe use.

You changed the layout of your racking systems or changed the height of certain beams? An inspection or certification (LARC – load application and rack configuration) is required by code before putting the rack systems back into usage.

There is no clear regulation on the frequency of general inspections. It should vary based on the speed at which rack-related issues arise in your warehouse. As a general rule, most experts and governing bodies agree to recommend monthly assessments done by warehouse personnel, and yearly independent inspections performed by third party rack experts or engineers.
